I can’t put it into words.

I have tried time and time again to write out all that has been happening at Durley. I keep my journal on me at all times, and do my best to record everything that has been taking place, but it’s so hard. If I am asked and I talk about it, it comes a little better to me, and I am able to share my amazing experiences so far, but when it comes to writing….I’ve got nothing. BUT, I can tell you key points and highlights about my summer so far:

*God has shown up in AMAZING ways!

*Lives have been CHANGED!

*HEALING has begun.

*Broken hearts are made WHOLE again.

*AMAZING friendships have formed.

*A better understanding of God’s LOVE is shared.

*I am NOT the same person I was when I began this journey.

The cabin that will forever hold a special place in my heart!

These girls are amazing. I miss them so much already. I was called mommy for a week, and was able to tuck in, hug, sing, and read to these girls before they went to sleep every night. On the last night of camp, I saw their hearts, their struggles, pain, and hurt, and watched the healing begin. I stand amazed at the way that God worked this week.

Durley in a nutshell so far.

I am blessed. I am changed. I am forgiven. I am free.

This has been the most amazing thing that I have ever done. It’s really awesome to see how God has worked and moved in my life as well as the lives of the girls that I have been living with.

When I write about this experience as a whole, I will break it down piece by piece to explain exactly what God has been doing, the best a human can do.

Continue to pray for me, and the girls that I am coming into contact with. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with everyone very soon.

My heart is heavy for the girls that I had this week. They come from some pretty broken backgrounds, and I had a hard time saying goodbye, so please pray for them.

Pictures are on Facebook if you want to see what I have been up to (: I will write about my experiences in-depth more later.

Off to Durley!

It’s time to pack my bug spray, my sunscreen, and my lazy clothes and head to Durley for a month (:

I am so excited to see what God has in store for me, as well as my girls!

Please pray that God opens our hearts and minds and we are receptive to what he is speaking to us this summer.

Operation: Beauty to the King….That is the theme of my cabin.

I am trusting that THIS is what God wants me to do.
